15 pieces, 15 ways – A Professional Capsule Collection for her

At the moment everyone is talking about the Capsule Wardrobe. The concept was first established by Donna Karen in 1985 when she released a 7 piece work wear collection that was meant to mix and match to create multiple looks with less pieces. The true definition of a capsule wardrobe is defined by The Business of Fashion as “a number of essential pieces that don’t go out of fashion and can be mixed and matched to make different combinations”. The way I approach a capsule collection is through establishing a colour palette and picking a variety of silhouettes with different hem lengths that can be combined in different ways to create multiple looks.

Did you know that the average women wears 20% of their closet, 80% of the time? Meaning – if your closet is worth $2,500 total, and you’re only wearing 20% of it, you have spent $2,000 on items you’re not wearing.

In an effort to change this statistic, we curated a collection of clothing from Simons that would allow women to understand the concept of less is more.

Here’s the breakdown

1 Blazer

1 Trench Coat

1 Dress Pant

1 Skirt

1 Dress

1 Sweater

1 Blouse

2 Turtlenecks

3 Shoes

2 Bags

1 Belt
