When I start working with new clients, I have each client fill out a five-minute questionnaire about their style and vision for their lives. One of my favourite questions is learning about each client’s fashion icons. From Meghan Markle to Olivia Polermo, every client has one or two style icons that they idolize their fashion sense around. The most popular inspiration? Victoria Beckham.
Her mix of masculine and feminine silhouettes, as well as her timeless taste, offers her and all the women she dresses effortlessly chic style, the main request by all my clients.
In her speech addressing the event, Victoria explained that her pieces are designed to be lifetime pieces in women’s wardrobes. She loves that she still wears dresses from her first collection today and keeps this idea in mind while designing her future collection.
I believe that this quality in her designs is why she is such an icon to my many clients and why my clients also align so well with my services. When shopping with my clients, each piece is chosen with the intention that it will last in their wardrobe and be able to be paired with many other pieces in their existing closet.
Another main takeaway is Victoria’s mix of feminine and masculine fashion. Her vision comes from wanting to emulate the power of menswear and specifically men’s power suits, while still maintaining her feminine charm and sensuality.
As a stylist, the blazer is a staple that I incorporate into all my client’s closets and I love that Victoria’s collection empowers the same feeling and values as many of the pieces I have helped my clients find for their growing careers and goals.
Victoria designs for herself and that is what has made her line so successful. She believes that being honest in anything you do is how you create a strong brand because it’s uniquely you. When working with my personal clients, I try to focus on making every woman feel like herself but her best self. This is when women discover their value and best attributes. We love the VB line because she’s created this strong personal brand that we want to associate ourselves with. Similar to this, I want the women I work with to be so sure of themselves that you know exactly who they are when they walk in a room because the clothes they wear tells their story.
